Introduction of new research and diagnostic methods for detection of evolutionary changes in enteroviruses and their effect on the pathogenesis

The purpose of the Project is to develop and implement scientific research methods aimed to detect evolutionary changes in enteroviruses at the Slovak Medical University, with the overall objective to contribute to the development of experimental research capacity in the Slovak public health system. Reference is made to the application dated 3 July 2008 and to any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - reconstruction works at the animal house and research laboratories; - purchase and installation of equipment; - purchase of consumables (chemicals, plates, laboratory animals etc); - upgrading and development of research methods; - management and publicity. The Project Promoter is the Slovak Medical University. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Slovak Government shall provide at least 15 percent of the total estimated eligible Project costs.
