Capacity modernization and good governance support in public administration in Žilina region

The purpose of the Project is to support good governance and capacity building of the public administration in Zilina region, with the overall objective to support the development of all districts and municipalities in Zilina region. Reference is made to the application dated 04 July 2008 and any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: • Detailed analysis and research of public administration in Zilina region; • Analysis of international best practices (including study tours to Norway, and Italy); • Regional coordination and conferences on planning in the field of regional development; • Improving of technological capacity of public administration units (purchase of laptop and technical equipment); • Project management (including monitoring) and publicity. The Project Promoter is the District Office of Liptovský Mikuláš. Subject to national law, the Project shall be implemented in partnership with: •District office in Žilina •District office in Cadca •District office in Námestovo •District office in Martin •District office in Dolný Kubín •District office in Ružomberok. •Gmina Pronin, Poland. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Slovak Republic provides at least 15 percent of the total estimated eligible Project cost.
