The whole vulnerable group is very difficult to engage in everyday life, activities that are common to others. They encounter discrimination, social exclusion. A major obstacle to their inclusion is a lack of self-esteem, health problems, bias, ignorance and their rights, possibilities. Their disadvantage is also low education, limited access to information, lack of interest in public affairs. In the village of Chocholná-Velcice, 2 houses were sold, in which 15 persons with health disadvantages are to be moved within 2 years, several of them of Roma origin. People in the community who have learned what their new neighbours will have become worried about it and angry at who their neighbours will have.
The project aims to meet new inhabitants - the disadvantaged, Roma and other inhabitants - so that the new inhabitants gradually become part of everyday life in the village. The project seeks to meet through these meetings so that the two groups get to know each other, break down prejudices, establish good relations and learn to tolerate each other. The activities will be aimed at showing the disadvantaged people how they can benefit the municipality. This group is very willing to help and grateful to see that it has made someone happy with its help. The aim is for residents to understand that these people can be beneficial in their community and can enrich social, cultural events in the community, and help to improve the community.
The project will involve several activities, various joint workshops, sports or cultural events, trips to the surroundings and live books. Both the original/local inhabitants and the new inhabitants (disadvantaged, Roma) of the municipality should participate in all activities. They should cooperate, help each other and have fun in convergence activities. The target groups of the project are public administration, local communities, people with disabilities, including Roma, children and youth.
