The purpose of the Project is to improve energy efficiency of two buildings housing the Manko Golar Kindergarten in Gornja Radgona, with the overall objective of protecting the environment through reducing the emission of pollutants into the atmosphere. Reference is made to the application, dated 5 May 2006, and correspondence from the Focal Point dated 8 March 2007. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - a comprehensive retrofitting of two kindergarten units built in 1975 (Unit X) and 1982 (Unit L), with 850 m² and 753 m² of usable area respectively, consisting of: - a complete retrofitting of external walls and roof to a passive house standard (thermal insulation of the ceiling, flat roof, floor slab, external walls, installation and glazing of new windows and doors); - retrofitting of the mechanical installations (installation of controlled mechanical ventilation system, installation of heat pumps for heating and flat bed solar collectors for hot water preparation); - retrofitting of electrical installations; - Project publicity. The Project Promoter is the Municipality of Gornja Radgona. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Project Promoter provides at least 15 percent of the estimated eligible Project costs.
