In order for higher education to respond successfully to the growing economic and societal demands for graduates with knowledge and skills for the 21st century, it is necessary to improve and innovate teaching practices and actively involve students in the learning process. This can be achieved by improved institutional cooperation and knowledge sharing at various levels. The key project impacts are, inter alia, that through increased institutional cooperation and in partnership with teachers and other experts, it develops and tests new, innovative pedagogical practices and active learning environments at two higher education institutions, develops permanent tools and resources for didactic training, developing multipliers, mutual learning of teaching and introducing systemic innovations for active learning at all levels of formal and informal education in higher education. The project directly benefits higher education teachers and professional staff (improved capacity to innovate and create active learning environments) and students (more interaction, agency and ownership in the learning process). Increased cooperation and knowledge from the project indirectly benefits decision-makers (leadership of institutions, policy makers), researchers, the economy and society as a whole.
