The project aimed to improve the quality and effectiveness of social dialogue in Slovakia by developing an Index of Social Dialogue (ISD). This index serves as an analytical tool to evaluate social cooperation between partners, addressing the need for objective measurement of social dialogue practices. The project sought to enhance tripartite cooperation and social reconciliation through this initiative.

Main Activities:

  • Analysis of Evaluation Tools: Comparative analysis of existing evaluation tools within EU countries to identify and define tools for evaluating social dialogue quality.
  • Knowledge Workshop in Oslo: Workshop organized by the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO) to share best practices and know-how on social dialogue evaluation.
  • Methodology and Index Creation: Development of the methodology and measurement tools for the Index of Social Dialogue, followed by a pilot presentation and implementation.
  • Promotion and Awareness: PR campaign, press conference, and social media promotion of the Index outcomes.
  • Consultations with Social Partners: National-level consultations to promote the measurement of social dialogue effectiveness and motivate participation.
  • Project Management and Evaluation: Effective management and periodic evaluation of project activities.

Outcomes:

  • Creation of the Index of Social Dialogue for objective measurement of social dialogue quality and effectiveness.
  • Improved social reconciliation and economic development through higher mutual trust among social partners.
  • Regular promotion of the Index outcomes to policymakers, stakeholders, and the general public.

Summary of bilateral results

The Norwegian partner the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO) organised a workshop n Oslo, where social partners from Norway shared best practices and knowledge. The outcome of the workshops served as a basis for the development of the Index of Social Dialogue, and the bilateral cooperation was instrumental for the outcome of the project.
