GIS SYSTEM IMPLEMENTATION IN MIZIL - A TOOL FOR TERRITORIAL PLANNING

The purpose of the Project is to develop new competences and skills for the staff working in planning and territorial planning using new Geographical Information System (GIS) technologies, with the overall objective of strengthening administrative capacities of local government, and the efficiency and the transparency of the public services related to territorial planning in Romania. Reference is made to the application dated 12 June 2008, and to any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - data acquisition; - purchase of software and hardware; - implementation of Geographical Information System (GIS); - training of staff in using GIS; and - management and publicity measures. The Project Promoter is the Local Council of Mizil Municipality. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Project Promoter provides at least 15 percent of the estimated eligible Project cost.
