IMPROVEMENT OF THE STRUCTURES AND EFFICIENCY OF SMALL HORIZONTAL AXIS WIND GENERATORS WITH NON-REGULATED BLADES

The purpose of the Project is to create a full scale operative wind generator based on newly developed technology, with the overall objective of reducing the cost of the energy produced and impact on the environment, as well as increasing the use of renewable energy. Reference is made to the application dated 11 June 2008 and any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: 1. Study and research of horizontal turbine types and construction, and analysis and research of cost reduction possibilities. 2. Comparative studies and research of existing and new generator types and constructions and selection of the most suitable power supply topology and structures. 3. Fabrication projects and manufacturing of the wind generators' mechanical components. 4. Manufacturing, factory tests, heating characteristics of generators. 5. Fabrication design, fabrication, test of electronic devices and experimental generator parameter identification. 6. Manufacturing of the laboratory model. 7. Assembling and tunnel testing, on site installation of prototype wind generator. 8. Project management and publicity. The Project Promoter is the Politechnica University of Timisoara. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Project Promoter shall provide at least 15 percent of the estimated eligible project cost.
