AWARE-P (Advanced Water Asset Rehabilitation in Portugal)

The purpose of this Project is to develop and implement a computer tool for infrastructure assets management in the Portuguese water and wastewater utilities, with the overall objective of efficient resource allocation in infrastructure maintenance and improved management of water resources and wastewater in Portugal. Reference is made to the application dated 12 June 2007 and any subsequent correspondence between the FMO and the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: – Finalize the computer program prototypes developed under CARE-W and CARE-S – Production of training materials – Training of personnel in the water and wastewater utilities – Demonstration of pilot-studies – Project management and publicity. The Project Promoter is Laboratorio Nacional de Engenharia Civil (LNEC). Subject to national law the Project shall be implemented in partnership with Instituto Regulador de Águas e Resíduos (IRAR, Portugal), YDREAMS - Informática SA (Portugal), Addition Projectos e Servicos de Informatica, Lda, The Foundation of Scientific and Industrial Research (SINTEF, Norway), Instituto Superior Técnico (IST, Portugal), Administração e Gestão de Sistemas de Salubridade (AGS, Portugal), SMAS de Oeiras e Amadora (SMAS O&A, Portugal), Águas de Portugal (AdP, Portugal) and VEOLIA Agua (Portugal). The Focal Point shall ensure that LNEC provides at least 8.74 per cent of total eligible Project costs, that IRAR provides at least 6.54 per cent of total eligible Project costs, that SINTEF provides at least 3.03 per cent of total eligible Project costs, that IST provides at least 3.82 per cent of total eligible Project costs, that Ydreams provides at least 6.04 per cent of total eligible Project costs, that AGS provides at least 3.67 per cent of total eligible Project costs, that SMAS O&A provides at least 3.67 per cent of total eligible Project costs, that AdP provides at least 3.67 per cent of total eligible Project costs and that VEOLIA Agua provides at least 3.67 per cent of total eligible Project costs.
