Technical Assistance Fund in Portugal

The purpose of the Grant is to provide financial support to the Focal Point in the Portuguese Republic, intermediaries, Paying Authority and Audit Authority. The objective of the Grant is to contribute to proper implementation of the EEA Financial Mechanism, in accordance with Annex A of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Funding Parties and the Republic of Portugal. The decision to award the Grant is based on information submitted in the Application Form received by the Financial Mechanism Office on 23 February 2006 and the additional information presented in the letter of 21 March 2006 from the Focal Point. Activities supported include the open call process, evaluation of applications, project monitoring, costs of meetings of the Steering Committee, Monitoring Committee, annual meetings and other meetings necessary for the implementation of the Financial Mechanism. Publicity activities and relevant administrative cost are also supported. For this Project, the Focal Point is the Project Promoter. At least 17.73 % of the estimated eligible project cost shall be provided through the State Budget of the Republic of Portugal.
