The purpose of the Project is to create a perinatal programme to offer better services for the perinatal testing and early detection of anomalies and genetic diseases of foetuses, with the overall objective of protecting the health of pregnant mothers and newborns in the Torunski Poviat, contributing to an overall increase in the quality of life in the region. Reference is made to the application dated 13 April 2007, and any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - Preparatory activities and employment of project and medical staff; - Organization of public tenders; - Training of staff; - Purchase of equipment for antenatal courses and test laboratories; - Class instruction of antenatal courses; - Renovation works and purchase of medical equipment and instruments; - Publicity and management activities. The Project Promoter is the Provincial Polyclinical Hospital in Torun (Wojewódzki Szpital Zespolony im. Ludwika Rydygiera). The Focal Point shall ensure that the Project Promoter provides at least 15 percent of the total eligible Project costs.
