Promotion of selective collection of packaging waste in chosen districts of Warsaw

The purpose of the Project is to carry out ecological awareness-raising activities, particularly as regards waste segregation, among residents in the Warsaw area, with the overall objective of increasing knowledge about the natural environment and its protection. Reference is made to the application form dated 16 April 2007, and any other correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - design and preparation of public awareness tools to be used by the project: environmental education plan, public awareness and promotion plan, internet-based information service; - implementation of promotional campaign including production and mounting of billboards and posting publications in newspapers, and maintenance of internet-based information service; - implementation of the designed environmental education programme; - organisation and carrying out of: school competition for collection of packaging waste, ecological picnic, and final project conference; and - project management (including recruitment, settlement of liabilities, accounting expenses, project publicity), and project evaluation. The Project promoter is the Niepelnosprawni dla Srodowiska EKON Association (Disabled for the Environment EKON Association). Subject to National law, the Project shall be implemented in partnership with Fundacja Nasza Ziemia ('Our Earth Foundation') and Stowarzyszenie Osrodek Dzialan Ekologicznych 'Zródla' ('Association Centre of Ecological Activities 'Fountains') The Focal Point shall ensure that the Project promoter provides at least 10 percent of the total eligible project costs.
