Developing novel laser-fiber monitoring technologies to prevent environmental hazards from vibrating objects.

The purpose of the project is to improve quality of vibration monitoring methods for minimisation of noise and vibrations level, with the overall objective of decreasing environmental hazards caused by vibrations and noise. Reference is made to the application dated 5 November 2007, and to any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - investigation of the basic parameters of the optical, mechanical and photo-detection systems and of semiconductor lasers; data acquisition; - arrangement and development of the experimental set-up; - design and construction of electronics and signal processing systems; - development and testing; - project management (including publicity); The Project Promoter is the Wroclaw University of Technology, Institute of Telecommunications, Teleinformatics and Acoustics, Laser and Fibre Electronics Group. Subject to national law, the Project shall be implemented in partnership with Gersemia. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Ministry of Science and Higher Education shall provide at least 15 percent of the estimated eligible project cost.
