The purpose of the Project is to maintain the ichthyological biodiversity of Lebsko Lake by preserving the autochthonous common whitefish; with the overall objective of contributing to the conservation of the autochthonous fish fauna in Poland. Reference is made to the application dated 3 September 2008 and any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: (1) Preparation of the theoretical basis for the project; (2) Field work; (3) Laboratory work; (4) Processing and analyses of the results of the field and laboratory work; (5) Preparation of papers and reports summarising the field and laboratory work; (6) Training programme; (7) Purchase of equipment; (8) Dissemination of project results; (9) Project management and publicity. The Project Promoter is the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn. Subject to national law, the Project shall be implemented in cooperation with the Park Directorate of the Ostoja Slowinska National Park and the Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research Polish Academy of Sciences PAN in Olsztyn. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Project Promoter provides at least 15.08 percent of the total eligible Project costs.
