The purpose of the Project is to prepare, inspired by regional history, the Sobieski heritage trail as a new cross-border facility for tourism in the area of Eastern Poland and West Ukraine, with the overall objective of facilitating mobilisation of local potential and strengthening the cross-border cooperation between Ukraine and Poland, contributing to the economic and social sustainable development in the region. Reference is made to the application dated 31 March 2008, and any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: 1. Organisation of training and cooperation sessions for representatives of towns and villages in the region; 2. Organisation of conferences, study visits, local seminars and expert meetings; 3. Establishment of a think-tank; 4. Establishment of six trail information centres and a secretariat, including purchase of equipment; 5. Establishment of a website: 6. Project publicity; 7. Project management and audit. The Project Promoter is the Rybczewice Municipality. Subject to national law, the Project shall be implemented in partnership with the Lion Society in Lviv, the Ecological UNESCO Club, the Pro Culture Association in Lublin and the Tourist Information Center in Zolkiew. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Project Promoter provides at least 15 percent of the total eligible Project costs.
