Design and Implementation of Culture Management and Tourist Traffic Strategy in the areas of cross- border regions of Poland and Ukraine.

The purpose of the Project is to create and implement a coherent strategy for culture and tourist management in the region, with the overall objective of diminishing socioeconomic disparities between Ustrzyki Dolne and Staryi Sambir, and to contribute to regional economic growth by developing the cross-border cultural and tourist sectors. Reference is made to the application dated 15 July 2008, and any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: 1. Organising six Polish-Ukrainian conferences; 2. Setting up a Polish-Ukrainian virtual database and two information booths; 3. Designing a development strategy for horseback tourism in the Polish-Ukrainian region; 4. Creating a downhill biking route for a Polish-Ukrainian extreme biking show; 5. Implementing a series of international sports events; 6. Implementing a series of cultural events in the cultural festival "Borderland Culture Festival: Carpathian Four Seasons"; 7. Promotion activities and publicity; 8. Project management. The Project Promoter is the Commune of Ustrzyki Dolne. Subject to national law, the Project shall be implemented in partnership with the City of Staryi Sambir in Ukraine. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Project Promoter provides at least 15 percent of the total eligible Project costs.
