PROVIDING PROPER PREVENTION SERVICES, DIAGNOSTIC AND ONKOLOGICAL TREATMENT FOR PATIENTS FROM CENTRAL POMERANIA REGION

The purpose of the Project is to improve cancer detection and treatment services, with the overall objective of reducing cancer mortality and improving life quality for cancer patients in the Central Pomeranian region. Reference is made to the application dating 5 April 2007, and to any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - implementation of preventive programmes regarding early detection of large intestine cancer and prostate cancer, - implementation of a training programme for medical staff based on e-larning; - implementation of an educative programme for children; - purchase of equipment; and - project management and publicity. The Project Promoter is the Janusz Korczak Regional Specialist Hospital in Slupsk. Subject to national law, the Project shall be implemented in partnership with Lillehammer University College. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Pomeranian Voivodeship Local Government provides at least 15 percent of the estimated eligible Project cost.
