Pomerania Pilot Lung Cancer Screening Project

The purpose of the Project is to create access to lung cancer screening services for early diagnosis, with the overall objective of reducing lung cancer mortality and promoting a healthy lifestyle for citizens in the Pomeranian region. Reference is made to the application dating 13 April 2007, and to any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - organise trainings for medical staff; - implement the screening programme; - procurement and purchase of equipment; - establish a patient's database; and - publicity and management activities. The Project Promoter is the Medical University of Gdansk. Subject to national law, the Project shall be implemented in partnership with Ullevål University Hospital, Oncology Centre. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Government of Pomeranian Province provides at least 15 percent of the estimated eligible Project cost.
