Prophylactic Programme for lung diseases and tuberculosis as a chance for healthy society of Podlasie

The purpose of the Project is to improve the quality and accessibility of health services in the Podlaskie Voivodship through implementation of an integrated prevention and treatment program for tuberculosis and lung diseases, with the overall objective of increasing the detection and effective treatment of tuberculosis and other pulmonary diseases in the region. Reference is made to the application dated 13 April 2007, and any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: 1) Implementation of a prophylactic program for detection of tuberculosis and other lung diseases; 2) Purchase of an ambulance with the necessary medical equipment installed (e.g. a digital radiology system and a spirometer); 3) Promotional activities; 4) Public procurement procedures; 5) Project management, audit and publicity. The Project Promoter is the Specialist Health Care Unit for Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases in Bialystok. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Podlaskie Voivodship provides at least 15 percent of the total eligible Project costs.
