Improvement of Perinatal Care as a Guarantee of the District Community Health

The purpose of the Project is to improve quality, availability and efficiency of the offered medical services at the District Hospital in Ilawa, with the overall objective of increasing the safety and health protection of mother and child before, during, and after birth in Ilawa and neighbouring districts. Reference is made to the application, dated 12 April 2007, and any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: • purchase of medical equipment; • employment of a person responsible for health promotion; • implementation of Pro-health promotion program; • realization of health prophylaxis investigations; • training and specialization of medical staff; • purchase of medical publications; and • publicity and management. The Project Promoter is the Wladyslaw Bieganski District Hospital Ilawa. The Focal Point shall ensure that the 'Ilawa District' provides at least 15 percent of the estimated eligible project costs.
