The purpose of the Project is to ensure proper conditions for maintaining and increasing the populations of lynx, wolf and brown bear in Poland, through implementation of preservation programmes designed specifically for each species, with the overall objective of preserving viable populations of wild carnivores in Poland. Reference is made to the application dated 16 April 2007, and any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project should include the following activities and results: 1) Implementation of protection program for bear; 2) Implementation of protection program for wolf; 3) Implementation of protection program for lynx; 4) Implementation of measures protecting migration corridors for large carnivores; 5) Project management and publicity. The Project Promoter is WWF Polska (WWF Poland). Subject to national law, the Project shall be implemented in partnership with 1) The Wild Animal Park in Kadzidlowo; 2) The Regional Directorate of State Forests in Olsztyn; 3) The Mazury Landscape Park; 4) Bieszczady National Park; 5) The Regional Directorate of State Forests in Krosno; and 6) The Bieszczadzka Foundation in Poland and 7) WWF Norway; and 8) The Norwegian University of Life Sciences in Norway. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Project Promoter provides at least 10.07 percent of the total eligible Project costs.
