The purpose of the Project is to create suitable conditions for establishing the artist-in-residence laboratory programme of the International Artistic Exchange Centre in the reconstructed historical Arsenal building of Ujazdowski Castle, with the overall objective of contributing to the preservation and reconstruction of the European and Polish cultural heritage and to increase interest in Polish and European contemporary art. Reference is made to the application, dated 16 April 2007, and to any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: • technical supervision services; • improvements to Arsenal building surroundings; • completion of interior refurbishing works, including noise protection; • equipping the show room with general facilities, including lighting, stage speakers and communication system; • equipping the film and photo studio; • purchase of audio visual equipment; • creation of studio apartments for the artist-in-residence programme, including the purchase of furniture for rooms and studios; and • publicity, promotion and information activities. The Project Promoter is the Centre for Contemporary Art, Ujazdowski Castle. The Focal Point shall ensure that Minister of Culture and National Heritage provides at least 20 percent of the estimated eligible Project cost.
