Vanishing monument- saving the Sanctuary in Swieta Lipka

The purpose of the Project is to repair and protect deteriorated external and internal features of the Swieta Lipka church complex, with the overall objective of preserving a Baroque cultural heritage monument of European importance as a factor influencing social and economic development of the region facing a threat of unemployment. Reference is made to the application, dated 9 April 2007, and to any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: • conservation works to mural paintings in the cloister; • conservation works to the plasters of the cloister and church facades; • conservation works to stone elements and sculptures on the church facade; • conservation works to the church organ; • repair of the organ prospect; • upgrading of stained glass windows; • renovation of the church and cloister roofs; • conservation works to the polychrome altar; • research regarding conservation methods, laboratory analyses and documentation of conservation works; and • supervision, project management, tendering, and publicity activities. The Project Promoter is the Convent House of the Society of Jesus in Swieta Lipka. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Project Promoter provides at least 15 percent of the estimated eligible Project cost.
