The purpose of the Project is more efficient use of resources by Polish businesses, especially small and medium-sized companies, through reduced consumption of water, materials and energy, and reduced generation of waste, with the overall objective of promoting and implementing sustainable development principles among Polish businesses. Reference is made to the application, dated 29 November 2005, and to the additional information received through the Focal Point dated 13 September 2006, 8 January 2007 and 9 February 2007. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - training seminars and workshops on sustainable development and environmental impact of energy, water and material consumption in the cities where the Clean Business Clubs are located; - specialist on-site visits and advisory services such as audits, consultations, solution implementation to businesses; - information services through the Environmental Information Centre of the Project Promoter; - engaging with at least two financial institutions to develop low-cost financing arrangements for environmental investments; - organisation of conferences (three editions of Clean Business Awards), and development of the "Environment Manager" internet tool to include all good practice examples; - promotion and dissemination of information. The Project Promoter is the Polish Environmental Partnership Foundation. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Project Promoter provides at least 10 percent of the estimated eligible project cost.
