Wireless exchange of information regarding Schengen

Purpose of Project: to provide the Police units in the area of EU external border with radiocommunication system enabling effective protection of national and Schengen Area security,with the overall objective of ensuring appropriate standards of land borders security and implementation of Schengen regulations and increased national and Schengen area security. Reference is made to the application dated 20 June 2006 and letter from the Polish Focal Point dated 13 November 2006. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: purchase of 120 sets of retransmission and base stations, 1000 sets of mobile radiophones, 2600 sets of portable radiophones . The Project Promoter is the Commander-in-Chief of the Police (the IT and Communication Bureau of the General Police headquarters serves as contact point). The Project Promoter shall provide at least 37.21% of the estimated total eligible project cost.
