The purpose of the Project is to improve the understanding and methods for thermomodernisation of public buildings in Poland, with the overall objective of increasing the energy efficiency in public buildings in Poland. Reference is made to the application, dated 29 May 2005, and correspondence with the Focal Point dated 5 September 2006 and 10 October 2006. The Grant will support the implementation of directive 2002/91/EC in Poland, by developing standardised energy performance measurements and norms for buildings. The Grant will finance research aimed at working out a systematic approach to modernisation of public buildings, including a methodology for calculating the energy performance of public buildings, calculation algorithms needed for modelling of thermo-physic processes and developing energy saving solutions adapted to Polish conditions. The Project Promoter is Warsaw University of Technology. The project has one partner, The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). The Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education shall provide at least 15 percent of the estimated eligible project cost.
