The purpose of the Project is to widen the scope of operation for National Registry of Blood Donors by establishing a comprehensive and effective IT system for the Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, with the overall objective of improving the supervision of blood services, as an element of a wider strategy of development of blood services in Poland. Reference is made to the application, dated 22 May 2006, and to correspondence with the Focal Point dated 17 August 2006, 12 October 2006 and 18 January 2007. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - purchase of computer hardware and software (including licenses), and their installation; - training of employees of the Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, Regional Blood Centres, local collection sites, and mobile units; - Project administration and tendering; and - publicity activities. The Project Promoter is the Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion. The Project partner is the Regional Blood Centre in Bialystok. The Project Promoter and its partner will jointly implement the Project, specifically with regards to conducting the tendering procedure, promotion, documentation, project management and monitoring. The partner is also the consortium leader of an agreement signed by 21 participating Regional Blood Centres. The partner is responsible to the Project Promoter for the coordination of the consortium members, as well as equipment purchase and training.
