The prevention and early detection of developmental anomalies in fetuses and children as well as neoplastic lesions in adults as a guarantee of health improvement among people of Tatrzanski Poviat.

The purpose of the Project is to improve early diagnosis of growth defects of fetuses and newborns, and early diagnosis of bowel and breast cancer, with the overall objective to reduce the number of newborn deaths and cases of adults with bowel and breast cancer in the Tatrzanski Poviat. Reference is made to the application dated 22 May 2006 and to the additional information provided by the Focal Point on 8 August 2006. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: 1. purchase of specialist medical equipment 2. programme for early non-invasive diagnosis of developmental anomalies in fetuses; 3. programme for prevention and early detection of heart defects in infants and children; 4. programme for prevention and early detection of hip dysplasia in newborns and children; 5. programme for prevention and early detection of bowel cancer; 6. programme for prevention and early detection of breast cancer; and 7. dissemination of information and promotional and educational campaign registration and financial reports The Project Promoter is the Tytus Chalubinski District Hospital, Zakopane, an independent public health care institution. The Tatrzanski Poviat shall provide at least 15 percent of the eligible Project cost.
