Procurement & installation of security/safety equipment for building sites housing SIS equipment

The Purpose of the Project is to provide physical security protection of three building sites housing central elements of the national Schengen Information System (SIS), with the overall objective of securing information exchange as part of the Schengen Information System according to the appropriate standards. Reference is made to the application, dated 2 November 2005, and additional information provided by and through the Focal Point dated 24 July 2006 and 11 December 2006. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - modification of a server room; - installation of a Closed Circuit television systems (CCTV systems, external and internal cameras); - installation of security doors and access control equipment such as card readers and finger print and code devices; and - installation of fire safety measures such as fire doors, fire alarm systems, automatic fire extinguishing system and data storage cabinets. The Project Promoter is the Malta Police Force. The Project Promoter shall provide at least 15 per cent of the estimated eligible project cost.
