Elaboration of the environmental education programs and "green" school in the Natural History Museum of Latvia

The purpose of the Project is to renovate the "Human and environment" permanent exposition, create a "green school" and develop environmental educational programmes in the Natural History Museum of Latvia in Riga, with the overall objective of increasing the environmental awareness in Latvia. Reference is made to the application dated 9 June 2008 and any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed project shall include the following activities and results: 1. Planning and creation (including equipping) of the environmental exposition and development of educational programmes on the exposition; 2. Development of the "green school" educational programme and "green school" activities - seminars, field trips, case studies and purchase of the technical equipment; and 3. Management and publicity. The Project Promoter is the Natural History Museum of Latvia. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Project Promoter shall provide at least 15 percent of the estimated eligible project cost.
