Elaboration of innovative, interactive multimedia studying software for Latvia's comprehensive schools.

The purpose of the Project is to have nature study software for teachers and pupils developed and approved by the Ministry of Education and Science, Centre for Curriculum Development and Examinations (ISEC), with the overall objective of improvement of education quality in Natural sciences courses in Latvia's comprehensive schools (grade 1-6). Reference is made to the application dated 6 June 2008 and any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: 1. Start-up meeting with partner and teacher organisations; 2. Meetings with teacher organisations for reference to similar foreign products; 3. Development of specifications and educational software creation; 4. Testing of created software; 5. Submission to and approval of created software by the Ministry of Education and Science, Centre for Curriculum Development and Examinations (ISEC); and 6. Project management and publicity. The Project Promoter is the Ventspils Digital Centre. Subject to national law the Project shall be implemented in partnership with Ventspils Education Board. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Project Promoter shall provide at least 15 percent of the estimated eligible project cost.
