Use of the Sea Heat as Renewable Energy in Centralized Heat Supply System for Salacgriva Town Budget Institutions

The purpose of the Project is to install a sea water based heat pump system serving public institutions in the Salacgriva Municipality with the overall objective of protecting the environment through reducing the emission of pollutants into the atmosphere. Reference is made to the application, dated 9 June 2008 and all subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - Prepare and carry out a public tender for the equipment and works to be carried out; - Install a heat pump (1,09 MWh) providing the Salacgriva secondary school, the Vilnitis nursery school and the sports stadium administration with geothermal energy; - Management and publicity activities. The Project Promoter is the Salacgriva Town Council with Rural Territory. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Project Promoter provides at least 15 percent of the total eligible Project costs.
