ESTABLISHMENT AND DEVELOPMENT OF NEW MEDIA ART EDUCATION IN LIEPAJA

The purpose of the Project is to establish a New Media Art higher education in Liepaja; with the overall objective of development of human resources by providing innovative New Media Art higher education and its accessibility in the region. Reference is made to the application dated 1 September 2008 and any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: 1) Establishing the New Media Art study and research environment by renovation of premises at Kurmajas prospekts 13 in Liepaja; 2) Providing a well equipped study and research environment (methodical materials, technical equipment, furniture) for the New Media Art education; 3) Provision of professional, creative and innovative teaching and learning process (seminars, courses, networking); 4) Development of a Master study programme in New Media Art; 5) Project management (including publicity). The Project Promoter is the Liepaja University. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Project Promoter provides at least 15 percent of the total eligible Project costs.
