Environmental policy integration programme in Latvia

The purpose of the Fund is to strengthen interdisciplinary research and policy analysis, promoting multi-stakeholder involvement and sustainable solutions with the overall objective of promoting sustainable development in Latvia by reinforcing the institutional capacity for environmental policy integration (EPI). Reference is made to the application, dated 12 December 2006 and correspondence with the Focal Point dated 19 April, 24 April, 19 June and 2 July 2007. The completed Fund shall include the following activities and results: - Fund management and the re-granting towards selected sub-projects within two open calls; - Multidisciplinary research on the application of integrative assessment methodologies and multi-stakeholder processes; - Establishment of environmental technology platforms for implementing innovative solutions and exchanging knowledge and experience; - Information, training and multi-stakeholder activities for improving policy design and implementation. The Intermediary is the Latvian Ministry of Environment. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Intermediary provides at least 15 percent of the estimated eligible Project costs.
