Adaptation of a Building in Nida for International Education and Culture Activities

The purpose of the Project is the establishment of a new educational and cultural centre in Nida (the Nida Art Colony), with the overall objective of enhancing the quality of art education in Lithuania through the facilitation of international artistic cooperation. Reference is made to the application, dated 29 December 2008 and all subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - demolition of a storage building located at Taikos 43 in Nida (Neringa municipality); - construction of the Vilnius Art Academy's building in place of the demolished building; - furnishing and outfitting of the Nida Art Colony; - planning educational and cultural activities; - project management and publicity activities. The Project Promoter is the Vilnius Academy of Arts. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Lithuanian Government provides at least 15 percent and the Project Promoter at least 5 percent of the total estimated eligible Project costs.
