Improvement of early diagnostics of oncological diseases and ensuring of valid treatment in Lithuania

The purpose of the Project is to increase capacity and implement new technology for cancer related services in 6 Lithuanian health care institutions, with the overall objective of improving prevention, diagnostics and treatment of oncological diseases in Lithuania. Reference is made to the application dated 6 September 2007, and to any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - purchase of medical equipment for six medical institutions: 1) Vilnius University Institute of Oncology 2) Siauliai Hospital 3) Klaipeda Hospital 4) Kaunas Medical Unviersity Clinics 5) Vilnius University Hospital Santariskiu Clincs 6) Vilnius University Hospial Children Hospital; - project publicity; - management. The Project Promoter is Vilnius University Institute of Oncology. Subject to national law, the Project shall be implemented in partnership with Siauliai Hospital, Klaipeda Hospital, Kaunas Medical Unviersity Clinics, Vilnius University Hospital Santariskiu Clinics, Vilnius University Hospial Children Hospital. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Lithuanian State budget shall provide at least 15 percent of the total estimated eligible project costs.
