The Purpose of the Project is to reconstruct the J. Gizas ethnographic fisherman's homestead and develop necessary infrastructure for opening the site to the public, with the overall objective of developing J.Gizas Fisherman's Homestead as a local tourist attraction contributing the socio-economic development and preservation of the cultural heritage in the Curionian Spit Area. Reference is made to the application dated 2 August 2007 and to any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - Restoration of three wooden buildings (living house, farm house and woodshed); - Technical infrastructure and upgrading of the surroundings; - Public procurement procedures; - Purchase of equipment; - Project management and publicity; and - Project audit. The Project Promoter is the Administration of the Municipality of Klaipeda District. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Lithuanian Government provides at least 15 percent of the estimated eligible Project costs.
