Historical Archives document protection project

The purpose of the Project is to establish a digitisation workshop, and to digitise and restore documents kept by the Hungarian state security agencies from 1945-1990, with the overall objective of preserving the documents and improving access to the documentation of the Historical Archives. Reference is made to the application dated 26 September 2006, and to any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - establishment of a digitisation and de-acidification workshop, including equipping of the workshop and minor construction works; - digitisation, restoration and de-acidification of documents; and - project management, including public procurement, publicity activities, and the selection of documents. The Project Promoter is the State Security Services History Archives. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Project Promoter shall provide at least 15 percent of the estimated eligible project cost as cash co-financing.
