Promotion of renewable energies in the province of A Coruña

The purpose of the Project is to reduce the energy consumption in the province of A Coruña through equipping municipal facilities with photovoltaic and thermal installations, with the overall objective of promoting renewable energy and hence reducing the emission of highly polluting harmful gases from fossil fuels. Reference is made to the application, dated 11 September 2006, and any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results in 19 rural municipalities in A Coruña (O Pino, Arzúa, Touro, Boimorto, Sobrado, Toques, Melide, Santiso, Miño, Vilarmaior, Irixoa, Betanzos, Paderne, Coirós, Aranga, Oza dos Ríos, Cesuras, Curtis and Vilasantar): - Drawing up of studies and plans for the photovoltaic and thermal installations (an action plan for each of the 19 councils); - Preparation of the land where the work will be done; - Implementation of photovoltaic and thermal installations; - Management and publicity measures. The Project Promoter is the Diputación Provincial de A Coruña ( A Coruña Provincial Council). The Focal Point shall ensure that the Project Promoter provides at least 62 percent of the estimated eligible Project cost.
