BIOBANKING FOR CHILDREN (BBC)

The purpose of the Project is to expand and increase the capacity of the Hellenic Cord Blood Bank, with the overall objective of contributing to cure pediatric leukeumias and other metabolic diseases. Reference is made to the application dated 4 December 2008 and any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: 1) Acquisition of laboratory equipment; 2) Extension and capacity increase of the Hellenic Cord Blood Bank; 3) Dissemination of the results and project publicity; 4) Project management. The Project Promoter is the Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Government of the Hellenic Republic provides at least 58 percent of the total eligible Project costs.
