The purpose of the Project is the creation of a holistic and experiential methodology for linguistic and cultural support to vulnerable groups in Greece and its preliminary application in selected centres, as well as through distance learning, with the overall objective of improving social integration and decreasing social exclusion for vulnerable groups in Greece. Reference is made to the application dated 12 May 2008, and any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - development of a holistic-experiential method for Greek language training; - creation of an education support structure and counselling for minorities and socially excluded groups; - preliminary integration of participants into the workforce; - recruit volunteers; - development of a network of international centres for the instruction of Greek language and culture; - studies, research and evaluation; and - management and publicity. The Project Promoter is the Research Centre for Gender Equality (RCGE). Subject to national law, the Project shall be implemented in partnership with the Treasury of Thrace; the Pan Hellenic Organisation Elliniki Estia; the International Organisation for Migration, Athens Mission; the Liaison Office of the Democritus University of Thrace; the Museum of the City of Athens (Vouros and Evtaxis foundation); the International Organisation for Migration, Oslo Mission; and the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Hellenic Government provides at least 54.4 percent of the estimated total Project costs.
