RESTORATION OF EXISTING BUILDINGS OF THE HOLY MONASTERY OF THE "DORMITION OF THE VIRGIN" KECHROVOUNI TINOS

The purpose of the Project is restoration and reopening of Mother Superior´s quarters and the refectory of Kechrovouni in Tinos to serve worshippers and the church officials, with the overall objective of preserving cultural heritage in the Cyclades islands. Reference is made to the application dated 1 December 2008 and all subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - Tender activities - Construction works - Management, legal services and publicity The Project Promoter is the Holy Monastery of the "Dormition of the Virgin" Kechrovouni Tinos. Subject to national law, shall the Project be implemented in partnership with the South Aegean Region and the Municipality of Tinos. The Focal Point shall ensure that the the Government of the Hellenic Republic provides at least 50 percent of the estimated eligible project cost.
