CHRISTIAN VIOTIA DIGITAL MUSEUM

The purpose of the Project is to give the public access to historical and cultural heritage by digitising exhibits and establishing a cultural heritage museum in Viotia, with the overall objective of preserving and promoting cultural heritage in Greece. Reference is made to the application dated 6 May 2008 and to any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - public procurement and purchase of equipment & contracting of construction services; - reconstruction works to the buildings for the purpose of establishing the museum; - restoration of manuscripts and digitisation of exhibits; and - public awareness activities for the new museum, and publicity of the project and project management. The Project Promoter is the Holy Diocese Thivon and Livadias. Subject to national law, the project will be carried out in partnership with the Municipality of Aliartos. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Government of Greece provides at least 50 percent of the total eligible Project costs.
