The purpose of the Project is to improve the coverage of drug rehabilitation services and treatment for pregnant opioid dependent women with the overall objective of keeping the HIV/AIDS epidemic under control in Estonia and reducing the possibility of vertical transmission of HIV. Reference is made to the application dated 13 January, 2009 and to any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - provision of treatment for HIV positive pregnant women, taking into account drug dependencies; - public awareness and information campaigns which are targeted to the effected women; - preparation of guidelines for treatment of such cases in Estonia; - management and publicity The Project Promoter is the West Tallinn Central Hospital Ltd. Subject to national law, the Project shall be implemented in partnership with: MTU Convictus Eesti; MTU Kesklinna noustamiskeskus; AS Ida-Tallinna Keskhaigla; AS Fertilitas; and the National Institute for Health Development. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Ministry of Social Affairs of Estonia provides at least 13.5 percent of the total eligible Project costs, and that the Project Promoter provides the remaining 1.5 percent of the total eligible Project costs.
