The purpose of the Project is to create a complex care centre for newborns and infants at risk at the General University Hospital in Prague, with the overall objective of reducing the morbidity and mortality of newborns in the Czech Republic. Reference is made to the application dated 24 September 2008 and to any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - reconstruction works at the General University Hospital building to ensure accessibility; - construction works at the unused hospital premises where the complex care centre will be located, including departments for the diagnostics, physiotherapy and therapy treatments of newborns and infants at risk; - purchase and installation of equipment for the created new health services; - selection of experts and provision of training in view to create a multidisciplinary team of professionals; - project management and publicity. The Project Promoter is the General University Hospital in Prague (Všeobecná fakultní nemocnice v Praze). The Focal Point shall ensure that the Ministry of Health provides at least 15 percent of the total estimated eligible Project costs and the Project Promoter provides at least 13.35 percent of the total estimated eligible Project costs.
