Monitoring of trans-boundary air pollution by isotope fingerprinting of sources

The purpose of the Project is to improve knowledge on transboundary transportation and atmospheric deposition of toxic metals, with the overall objective of reducing deposition of toxic metals in the Czech Republic. Reference is made to the application dated 4 August 2008, and to any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - establish a monitoring programme on transboundary atmospheric deposition; - equip a laboratory including a multi-collector; - data processing and evaluation; - project management and publicity activities. The Project Promoter is the Czech Geological Survey. Subject to national law, the Project shall be implemented in partnership with the University of Bergen, Norway. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Ministry of Environment provides at least 15 percent of the estimated eligible project cost.
