The purpose of the Project is to introduce new methods for fish stock monitoring and management and mapping of ecological potential of the fish stock of reservoirs, with the overall objective of enhancing fisheries management of water reservoirs in the Czech Republic. Reference is made to the application dating 19 November 2007, and to any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - design and purchase of equipment for fish monitoring; - testing of equipment and development of methodology for monitoring; - trial monitoring of selected reservoirs; - processing of collected information and creation of a tentative methodological guide for fish monitoring; - pilot full monitoring; - assessment of results and creation of final fish monitoring guide; and - management and publicity activities. The Project Promoter is the Hydrobiological Institute of Czech Academy of Science. Subject to national law, the Project shall be implemented in partnership with the University of Oslo, Department of Physics and with the Institute of Marine Research, Bergen. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Project Promoter provides at least 15 percent of the estimated eligible Project cost.
