The purpose of the Project is to preserve Strakonice Castle and improve the functionality of its premises with the overall objective to systematically restore and protect immovable cultural heritage monuments and thus contribute to the conservation of European cultural heritage. Reference is made to the application dated 28 November 2007 and to any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - Reconstructed roof and facade of the Northern and North-Eastern wing of the castle building; - Reconstructed granary and kiln house including the creation of a multipurpose hall and two exhibition halls (both in the North Wing); - Management and publicity including website. The Project Promoter is the Municipality of Strakonice. Subject to national law, the Project shall be implemented in partnership with the Museum of the Central Otava Basin. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Project Promoter provides at least 15 percent of the estimated total eligible project costs.
