Formation of the ward for persons suffering from dementia in the Old People’s Home in Buchlovice

The purpose of the Project is to create a specialised ward for elderly people with dementia and improve services provided to them in the nursing home of Buchlovice (Domov pro seniory Buchlovice, U Domova c. 470, 687 08 Buchlovice); with the overall objective of development and improvement of the living standard of nursing home users and of the services provided to them in the Czech Republic. Reference is made to the application dated 6 September 2007 and any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: (1) Project management (including publicity); (2) Refurbishment of one ward in the nursing home in Buchlovice to establish a specialised ward for elderly people with dementia; (3) Purchase and installation of appropriate furniture and equipment for the new specialised ward for elderly people with dementia; (4) Provision of specialised training for care providers on primary care for elderly people with dementia, and hiring of new staff. The Project Promoter is the Social Services Uherské Hradište. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Project Promoter provides at least 15 percent of the total eligible Project costs.
