SETTING UP THE SIRENE BUREAU AND TRAINING FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE SIS

The purpose of the project is to strengthen the capacity of the Czech National Police Headquarters to train police officers in entering information and using the SIRENE system as part of the implementation of the Schengen Information System in the Czech Republic. The objective of the grant is to finance the conversion of a room as a training facility in Czech National Police Headquarters, the equipment required for training of police officers on- and off-site; equipment for a the communications centre specific to the operation of SIRENE, as well as training of SIRENE Bureau staff; peer evaluation by foreign experts; study visits to Schengen countries; and preparation of systemic adaptations necessary to change from reporting to Interpol to reporting as part of the SIS.
